Previous song "Forsaken"

Rachelle has recently recorded her third co-write with exceptional Producer/Writer Ali Boudris. “Forsaken” is the amazing result of their work.

“Rachelle is still unaware of her incredible talent, which makes her even more special to work with.” says Boudris.

“The writing process is becoming less of a struggle” says Dobin. “It is becoming less difficult to project the material from out of my heart. Though sometimes I have to pry my mind and soul open to find it, the experience is wonderful. The harmony between music and words surprises me on a daily basis. With Ali’s help, I hope I am able to get more ideas and thoughts out into the world.”

VOCAL POWERHOUSE RACHELLE DOBIN CHOSEN Posted: Jun 8, 2006

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WRITTEN BY JONATHAN WIDRAN

WHO: The Southern California-Based 16-Year-Old Sensation Was Selected For Her Powerful, Emotional Performance Of “My Reflection,” An Original, Soaring Power Ballad She Co-Wrote With Renowned Producer Toby Gad (The Veronicas, Hitch Soundtrack, Fatty Koo).

Currently Writing and Seeking New Material For Her Debut Album Rachelle is working with Producer John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths, Los Lonely Boys), Dobin Has Worked With Diane Warren and Danny Wilde, And Performed For Thousands at Such Venues as the California Speedway,Dodger Stadium and Staples Center.

WHAT: At age 13, she was recording demos for famed songwriter Diane Warren. She’s worked with Danny Wilde of The Rembrandts (“Theme From TV’s ‘Friends’”), performed at Shaq’s Athletes And Entertainers for Kids (a charity for disadvantaged children), opened a benefit concert for Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough and BoyzIIMen, and has sung for a hundreds of thousands of people at prestigious venues like Dodger Stadium, Staples Center and the California Speedway. Now, the slow building buzz around multi-talented 16-year-old alternative rock sensation Rachelle Dobin reaches a fever pitch with her selection as “Best Vocalist of The Month” by key industry tastemaker website SingerUniverse.com. The competition honors and publicizes top vocalists who submit their demos to the site each month.

Dobin, who is represented by The William Morris Agency, was chosen for her powerhouse emotional performance of “My Reflection,” an original song co-written by her and producer Toby Gad, best known for his work with The Veronicas, Fatty Koo and on the soundtrack to the film Hitch. Gad wrote the underlying tracks for the tune and Dobin composed the song’s melody and lyrics. Part hypnotic and haunting ballad, part soaring, fiery rocker, the instantly memorable track—and sure candidate for a future pop hit--is an incredible showcase for Dobin’s beautiful voice and full vocal range.
In addition to capturing the depth of Dobin’s maturity as a singer and songwriter, “My Reflection” posits her on the music industry landscape as a unique artist that is all at once sultry and seductive, yet raw, edgy and fully in command.

“What I like about the song is that it’s so different from most of the songs today’s female singers are performing,” she says. “The beautiful piano he plays at the beginning really inspired me to create a strong story with imagery I know listeners will be able to relate to. The different moods of the song fit who I am and what I would like to put into the world creatively.”
As the current winner of “Best Vocalist of The Month,” Dobin will be featured on SingerUniverse.com’s home page with a very positive feature article, a photo, an MP3 of her demo and a link to her website (www.rachelledobin.com).

Along with the other four finalists, she will also be featured on the site’s monthly email newsletter. Dobin’s “Best Vocalist of The Month” article will remain online indefinitely, so that the article can be read (and the demo heard) for many months to come.

Currently writing new material and seeking outside songs from publishers for her eagerly anticipated debut album, Dobin is working on the production side with John Porter, a former member of Roxy Music who has produced a wide range of pop, rock and blues artists, ranging from The Alarm and The Smiths to B.B. King, Taj Mahal and Los Lonely Boys.

”The good news about a young singer like me becoming a teenager is getting to the point where you can choose your musical identity,” she says. “When I was younger, I was just this little kid singing light pop songs and selections from The Lion King, but as my tastes have grown, I realize the value of becoming what I like to call the ‘tortured, angsty teenager.’ When I was younger, I couldn’t have dreamed of being a rock singer, but now that’s the course that makes the most sense because there is so much room for me to grow.

No doubt, the success of “My Reflection” will be the first of many songwriting achievements in Dobin’s budding career. “Being able to express myself can be a breathtaking experience, and that is what I strive to do,” she says. “I want to express thoughts in a style that are meaningful, creative, interesting, and emotional. To be different and myself is very important to me. I would like to be more than just a singer but a true artist. Being a part of the whole production is important too. As my career unfolds, I would also love to branch off into designing clothes, jewelry, performances and music videos. I’m really excited about having the chance to do it all.”

Rachelle Dobin Named June “Best Vocalist Of The Month” With Her Song “My Reflection” Posted: Jun 7, 2006

Rachelle Dobin Named June “Best Vocalist Of The Month” With Her Song “My Reflection”

By Dale Kawashima

Rachelle Dobin, an exceptional, young rock singer & songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA, has won the June SingerUniverse “Best Vocalist Of The Month” Competition, for her performance of her song “My Reflection” (co-written by Toby Gad). This recording marks an auspicious debut for Dobin, who is only 16-years-old. In addition, Dobin is currently collaborating with other writer/producers, and she is recording songs to eventually shop for a label deal.

“My Reflection” is a dramatic, modern rock cut which showcases Dobin’s powerful vocals. She displays the legitimate vocal strength of a Kelly Clarkson or Amy Lee, particularly in the song’s soaring chorus. Dobin also demonstrates her potential as a songwriter - she wrote this song with Toby Gad, a New York-based writer/producer who has worked with such artists as the Veronicas, Ricky Martin, Kaci Brown and Jaci Velasquez. Gad expertly produced “My Reflection,” and played all of the instruments on this recording.

Dobin was born in Northridge, CA, and now lives in Simi Valley (near Los Angeles). She started singing at a very young age, and was inspired by listening and singing along to the Phantom Of The Opera soundtrack. Then at age nine, she became more serious about singing and performing, and she entered and appeared on the PAX-TV talent show, Destination Stardom.

Since then, Dobin has performed live at many venues and events. She has sung the national anthem twice at Dodger Stadium, and she will do so again in September. She has also sung at the games of the Harlem Globetrotters and Los Angeles Avengers arena football team, and at a Mercedes-Benz tennis tournament. Dobin has also performed at many fund-raising events. She is represented by Joel Roman at the William Morris Agency.

Dobin is also continuing to develop her musicianship, writing and recording skills. “I’m learning to play piano and guitar,” she said. “I’m also looking forward to writing more songs and doing more recording. I like creating a sense of drama in rock songs. When I was little I was fascinated by Elton John’s ‘Funeral For A Friend,’ and some of my favorite artists are Evanescence, Tori Amos and 3 Doors Down.”

In addition to collaborating with Toby Gad, Dobin is currently writing a song with John Porter (who has worked with Los Lonely Boys and Bonnie Raitt). She has also recorded with Danny Wilde of the Rembrandts. Lastly, Dobin plans on putting together a new live band. Last fall, she successfully fronted a band for a show at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills (CA), and her show was videotaped for promotional purposes.

Toyota Indy 400 Posted: Oct. 16, 2005

October 16, 2005, Rachelle was invited back to the California Speedway for her fifth and sixth appearance! The speedway held two races this day, the Toyota Indy 400 and the Mendard's Infiniti Pro Series 100.

Rachelle's first performance was back in 2002. Here are some quotes after her performance on the 12th birthday!

NASCAR Napa 500
SOLD OUT! 125,000 people were in attendance at the California Speedway for the NAPA 500, The LARGEST sporting event in California. FOX TV has estimated a staggering 5.4 MILLION people watched the telecast LIVE! Thank you California Speedway, NAPA Auto Parts, NASCAR, Fox TV, Uncle Joe Benson, Sheryl Crow, and The United States Navy. Response to Rachelle's performance of our country's National Anthem has been incredible. Here is what some people are saying:

Bill Miller
President of California Speedway
"After Rachelle's impressive performance at the Yamaha Superbike Challenge, we were thrilled to have her perform in front of a sold out crowd for the NAPA Auto Parts 500. It's very evident that Rachelle has a bright future in front of her and we are happy that we could be there to provide this opportunity."

Mike Rearden
Director of Events/Sponsorships
NAPA Headquarters
"NAPA was very fortunate to have Rachelle perform the National Anthem for this year's NAPA AUTO PARTS 500. Quite honestly, when Kelly Clancy of the California Speedway first mentioned Rachelle I was a little reserved just because of her age. Kelly assured me Rachelle would do a great job and was she ever right. I was really impressed by her talent and composure as she had one of the hottest performers, Sheryl Crow standing right next to her during her performance. Sheryl, the sellout crowd, our NAPA customers and the national viewing audience were quite impressed. Later in the day, I spoke with Bill Miller, the General Manager of California Speedway and he mentioned several calls had come into the track switchboard from fans commenting on Rachelle's performance. I think we all should remember this name. On behalf of the entire NAPA family, thanks again to Rachelle Dobin for being a part of this year's NAPA AUTO PARTS 500."

Uncle Joe Benson
Arrow 93
A beautiful, beautiful performance! That was so special, and the crowd absolutely loved it! I know more will come your way because of it! You did well with your gift!
Congrats to the whole family!

Wonderful, wonderful job at the race yesterday. You could hear a pin drop down on pit road while doing your rendition of the National Anthem. I hope to hear your powerful and talented voice again soon.
